Anger grows as grassroots Football is suspended

From tomorrow until December 2, grassroots football will be closed for both adults and children across the country, with men’s teams below national leagues North or South being unable to train or play.

However, calls for youth sport to be exempt have been expressed, with ex- Wales international Robbie Savage shared his frustration with the FA’s decision yesterday stating “there’s no clarity” and “they haven’t got a goal”. Youth Sports Trust chief executive Ali Oliver told BBC sport the impact on young people could be worse than expected, saying that “just under a quarter of secondary schools don’t offer physical education”.

Furthermore, current Chelsea boss and former player Frank Lampard commented on the government decision saying "I'm a massive advocate for children to play all sorts of sports, but at unprecedented times, we are reliant on the government and scientists. If it can be done if a safe way, I think for physical and mental health, we must strive to do it as much as we can.

There is no doubt, there is mounting pressure on the government to change it's mind.
