Trick or Treating Could Increase Rate of Covid-19 Transmission, According to Experts

With Halloween only days away, many families remain confused over whether they should participate in trick or treating during the current pandemic.

Many experts believe that the celebration should not be encouraged this year. London is under Tier 2 restrictions, and the rule of 6 continues to apply to both children and adults outside. Health professionals fear that children receiving sweets from multiple houses could increase the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

If families do want to take their children out, it is advised all should wear face coverings when approaching houses. Any groups of six or more that meet indoors should belong to the same household or support bubble.
