Transgender people choosing to self-medicate

Members of the transgender community in the UK are choosing to self-medicate with hormones purchased from unregulated sources online due to waiting times to see NHS specialists.

New figures show that some patients wait over 2 years to be seen despite England’s target time of 18 weeks. NHS England has said it will increase investment to respond to the rising demand.
