The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak has announced this years plans for the annual budget in Houses of Parliament today.
In housing news, there will be £12 billion given to the affordable homes program, with an additional £650 million set aside to help tackle rough sleeping.
£600 million will be spent by the government in order to remove Grenfell-style cladding from more than 300 other blocks. However, there will be no funding allocated to any other buildings that have potentially dangerous cladding. This has caused members of the public to call for more help in order to aid the 500,000 people still living in buildings like this.
In education, Sunak has stated there will be £250,000 allocated for every secondary school in order to provide better arts activities.
Finally, in order to further the NHS, they have promised to build the additional 40 hospitals as promised in the Conservative manifesto.
All of this will mark the biggest government giveaway since 1992.
