Schools feel threatened by Coronavirus

While Public Health England still advises schools not to close, increasing numbers are beginning to feel the pressure of Coronavirus knocking at their doors after the Half Term holidays.

At least 21 schools are turning away pupils who have visited high risk countries. The schools ranging fro pre-school to secondary are in educational authorities in Surrey, Kingston, Richmond, Cambridgeshire, and Middlesborough. Four of these schools are completely closed.

Meanwhile, a health surveillance system involving 11 hospitals and 100 GP Surgeries will hold tests to determine whether coronavirus is spreading in Britain. Up to 600 people a week to be tested even if they present with only mild symptoms.
