Panic Buying Continues in Shops

Supermarkets in the United Kingdom are continuing to run low on supplies of toilet roll, hand sanitizer and soap after continued panic buying over the Coronavirus.

Government officials have said that there is no need to stockpile, but despite this social media continues to be updated with images of empty shop shelves.

Watchdog have told retailers not to increase fear by increasing the price on certain items, such as soap in their stores. Certain retailers have also restricted the amount of specific items that consumers can buy in one go in order to aid the amount of stock they have.

Dr. Andrew Potter, from Cardiff Business School has said that the shortage should be, “fairly short term” in a statement to the BBC.
