London’s first ever ‘Iceberg’ hotel is set to open in Leicester Square in June 2020.
An ‘iceberg’ hotel functions much like a real iceberg, essentially, much more of the building lies underneath the surface, instead of above ground level.
The 32 meters of subterranean space has plans to be filled with a ballroom, spa, swimming pool, gym, two barber shops, and a hair and nail salon. The 30 meters of above-surface building will contain 350 hotel rooms and a rooftop bar.
The penthouse suite is set to be priced at around £10,000 a night, with the space of the rooms almost 3 times the size of an average Londoners home.
