Julian Bell, Labours council chief in Ealing, has been left vulnerable after a vote of no confidence exposed him to a hostile conservative opposition.
The vote which occurred on 28th of September was expected to be easy win for the Labour Chief however, after barely surviving with 28 to 27 votes and one abstention, the Labour party has left themselves open for attack.
The bid was launched after backlash for the Newley imposed LTNs or (Low Traffic Neighbourhoods), which caused major disruption to local ambulance services, with service itself saying the councillor’s decision put “lives at risk”.
This precarious position meant Labour councillors Julian Bell and transport boss and councillor Mik Sabiers were forced to apologise.
The backlash came after a bid was launched in response to the introduction of LTN system (Low Traffic Neighbourhoods) which disrupted local Ambulance services in the area.
