Climate protesters have continued to disrupt tourism and traffic though out Central London with road blocks and tents pitched in the middle of normally busy roads. Extinction Rebellion activists have launched a third day of protests in central London demanding the government tackles the climate crisis with as many as 600 arrests recorded.
Police officers yesterday handed out notices across Westminster, where campaigners kept an overnight vigil, in an attempt to reduce the disruption in the capital and concentrate the action on one area.
However, some protesters glued themselves to the Department for Transport building and to the underside of a lorry outside the Home Office in defiance of the notices.
Mr Stanley Johnson also spoke at an Extinction Rebellion event in Trafalgar Square on Wednesday in front of a substantial crowd.
The Prime Ministers father said: "I'm showing up here because I think what they [Extinction Rebellion] are doing is extremely important. From tiny acorns, big movements spring.
We have been moving far too slowly on the climate change issue."
Disruptions to transport are set to continue as the event progresses.
