U.K. low-cost airline, Easyjet, are considering banning nuts on all flights to ensure passenger safety.
This comes in light of the recent deaths on flights due to passengers suffering airborne allergies after unknowingly consuming nuts on flights.
In July 2016, Natasha Ednan Laperouse died after consuming a Pret a Manger baguette, that contained nuts, on board a British Airways flight from London to Nice.
Since this incident, amongst others, airports and airlines alike have been told to ban nuts to prevent allergy-deaths in the future.
Passengers on an Easyjet flight from London to Cyprus, on Sunday, were alerted to an announcement that no nuts would be sold during the flight. There were also reports that Easyjet were to ban nuts on all flights; however, Easyjet have confirmed there is no ban, via their Twitter account.
Easyjet currently sell products containing nuts on flights, but can impose a ban if a passenger lets the flight crew know they have an allergy in advance.
