Ealing Council is going to be implementing a 2% council tax raise for the 2020-2021 tax year.
The increase could see people paying at least an extra 90p each week on an average band D property.
Ealing Council have stated that they regret the increase to council tax, but the raise is projected to bring in an additional 5.6 million pounds for the borough. The council have claimed that this is a necessary move, as the funding for local government falling by 64% over the last 10 years.
Despite the higher council tax rates, Ealing borough now ranks first in London for homelessness prevention.
