American security services are being sceptical of allowing president Donald Trump to be welcomed to London in a carriage down the Mall and the Horse Guards Parade.
President Trump's arrival may cause a controversy putting him at risk in front of the public. Former president George Bush and Barack Obama were also not allowed to do this, with their welcome ceremony taking place inside the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
This years visit will be especially interesting with Prince Charles' divided view on the issue of climate change and the Duchess of Sussex being pleased she might be on maternity leave after being publicly critical about the president in the run up to his election.
His visit in June may draw much animosity and a very large crowd of protesters. This could put heavy pressure on the Metropolitan Police.
