Crossrail delayed until 2020

The Crossrail project has been delayed to 2020. The new Elizabeth Line is meant between Canary Wharf and Paddington, connecting East and West London in under 20 minutes. It was meant to open in December 2018.

Commissioner for Transport for London Mike Brown has been singled out as responsible for his poor management of the program by City Hall. He has been accused of downplaying risks to the project, focusing too much on the December 2018 deadline.

The report also calls for Mike Brown to consider whether he is “fit to fulfil his role in TfL”.
